Karel Hynek Mácha, prince of Czech poetry

The exhibition shows the visitor round the life and work of the poet and presents his reception through the time (inspiration for Czech literature, film and theatre, literary-historical evaluation). It also describes the search for the poet’s appearance, for the face of Karel Hynek Mácha during which the connection of science and artistic imagination gave birth to two variants of Mácha’s bust.

The exhibition is prepared in co-operation with the Memorial of National Literature and the National Museum.
