Glass beauty or History of (not only) Christmas decorations

The central topic of the exhibition is the traditional production of Czech glas hand made Christmas decorations, that have made our producers worldwide famous since more than 150 years. The visitors can see examples of historical decorations by our eminent producers as well as a selection of contemporary products drawing upon traditional motives and modern technological and artistic trends.

The whole collection contains more than 3 000 items from glass and other, mostly natural materials.nThe visitors learn how and under which conditions the decorations have been made in this country, in a permanent art workshop they can design their own decorations and make one from a semi-finished item. They can practice further interesting activities in Saturday workshops where they will make various types of Christmas and later Spring decorations.
