Folia Mendeliana publishes the results of the historical research into work and life of Johann Gregor Mendel (1822-1884) and the impact of his way of thinking on the study of life systems in European and world concepts. The chronicle section of Folia Mendeliana reports about significant lectures, exhibits and books in honour of Gregor Mendel and his worldwide acknowledged achievement that has become the core of modern thinking not only in biology, genetics and evolutionary programming. Folia Mendeliana is intended primarily for the informed historians of science, geneticists or biologists. Articles are written in concise and sufficiently nontechnical language to be intelligible for historically oriented biologists and to specialists in other fields. The journal was founded in 1965 with the support of UNESCO. The articles are published in English. All manuscripts are peer-reviewed.
